I called The Improvement Company for a quote for some handyman services that I did not have the time or resources to complete on my own. An appointment was setup on the following day with Dan who came out to look over the house. He was there right on time and walked the entire house making a list and offering suggestions as we went. He understood my situation completely and was very kind and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact that he wasn't trying to upsell me or exaggerate what needed to be done. He compiled a list, gave a reasonable quote, and (much to my surprise) was able to start on the work that afternoon! His employee worked quickly and efficiently to knock out a list that had been hanging over my head for years. He returned the next day to finish up the job and left the site cleaner than he found it. I was very pleased with the work performed and had complete confidence in Dan and his organization. It is clear that he has a high standard of honesty and integrity which I have found to be rare when hiring any type of contractor. He stuck to his word and did exactly what he said he would on time and on budget. I really appreciated this and I will be calling them again if/when the need arises.
Quality job...reasonable cost...professional and responsive. Highly recommend.
They were professional and punctual. I couldn't have asked for better service.
I was very pleased with the work done on my house. Brian came out and quoted the work. He was more than willing to answer any questions that I had (even if I chose another company). I am very pleased with the workmanship. The only negative things I can say are very minor. They were a little slow in completing the work. By that I mean, we had several different crews doing different jobs and it took about 3 weeks from start to finish. We were not in a hurry (I told them that) and it wasn't a problem for us. The clean up job was not immaculate. They did a very good job of cleaning up, but I found a piece or two. All in all, I am very pleased with the jobs and would definitely hire them again.
Very Well. The man who did it gave me a good estimate, I accepted. The work was done two days later. Well done. I am happy with it.
Installation went as agreed. Had a slight issue with clean up which was immediately remedied.
Needed some siding replaced after a tree damaged it. Called for estimate, they came out the next day to perform the estimate. Took about 15 minutes, received estimate via email later in the week. Called back to schedule the work and they requested that I send the request as a reply to the email, which I did. They had some availability the next week, but I had other work happening at that time, so I had to delay. We were able to schedule the work for about 2 weeks later. The crew (2 guys) showed up on time and worked hard, but didn't bring a tall enough ladder, so were only able to complete the lower half of the house the first day. They came back on time the second day with the tall ladder and finished the work very quickly. Left without asking for payment. Brian (the estimate guy) called a couple of days later asking if he could come by and pick up the payment, and verified at that time that I was happy with the work.
They arrived with a crew of 5 at 8:30am with every thing need to complete the job, pruned back a large camellia over growing roof (at no extra charge), removed old roofing, installed new roofing, performed excellent cleanup, and departed at 1:00pm. An extremely professional operation.
The estimate was $7585 for the job. They were polite, on time and good. The price didn’t impress me much, but everything that was written down about the job was good. I couldn’t afford that price. They didn’t itemize the estimate, so that I could see what I could afford and what not.
Clint responded to my initial phone call and came to my home the next day and gave a detailed estimate. When I called to have the work scheduled, his crew was able to come on the day I requested. They completed the work in less than a day and cleaned up after they were finished. They also repaired several missing anchors that fasten the exterior shutters at no cost. Very impressed with the quality, cost, and duration of the project. I am having them come back to replace gutters previously installed by another company.
I had some quotes and found them to be the cheapest. They did a pretty good job. They did my roofing last year so I had them do my windows this year. I have fairly large windows. I like their selling style. Bryan Kelley came out and was very helpful. The installer came out and was telling me how to replace the windows. I think they did a really good job and I was impressed.
Dan, the owner, is very cooperative and very responsive. We had house guests while the work was in progress, and at our request Dan stopped work for two days while they were here. All employees were extremely courteous, considerate, and willing to get everything right. We had no difficulty living in the house while the work was being done or leaving the workmen alone in the house if we needed to go somewhere.
The Improvement Co. came to quote the work exactly when they said they would. The work was done when promised and the work was expertly done.
The crew was very punctual and courteous and I was very pleased with the experience.
Worker showed up on time and performed quality work.
Teh provided an estimate and met with me again to talk about some specific details i wanted for out\r down spout locations. The gutters they installed look great. they actually look like a piece of trim instead of gutters. They placed the down spouts where i wanted on one side and i am waiting on them to return to correct the location of the other down spout in the front of my house. I would have given them an "A" on responsiveness but i've made two calls to have the guys return with out a return call. Otherwise, Clint was great to work with and the finished product looks great.
Brian Skelly was great to work with. His price estimate easily beat the competition hands down. I admit that I was a bit skeptical at first that I would be getting quality parts and workmanship but I was pleasantly surprised. The installers were great and managed to work around where the power line attached to the house. My only small complaint was that I called to have them move one downspout (actually, to have it angled in a different direction). It took them at least two weeks to return to do it. I'll admit, cost was my main consideration. However, for the cost, I received the same seamless gutters as the competitors plus I saved 20%. I would DEFINITELY recommend using them.
I sent an email with photos of the damaged areas and asked for an estimate. The same morning Dan Osterhaus received the email while he was in our area and called to inspect the damage. He came by that day and called me back with the estimate of $335 on Friday and said he could probably work us in the following week, but he would call Monday or Tuesday to let me know exactly when. He called early Monday morning with an unexpected opening and he and his crew arrived promptly and got right to work. They all were professionals and very friendly. Dan is a gentleman and a family man who listens patiently to the customer. I was very pleased with how the job was finished when he said it would, even after I asked for "one more little thing" that I thought of at the last minute. Everything went smoothly and they cleaned up before they left. This is a top-notch outfit and I am planning to call on them for some gutter work later. I was so excited to have found them, thanks to Angie's List. We had needed most of these repairs for a couple of years but everyone I contacted didn't want to bother with such a minor job. They all wanted only big jobs, like putting siding on a whole house, etc. These folks don't mind the small jobs, but they are trained and equipped for the big ones, too. AAA rating from me.
The gentleman that came out for an estimate was very pleasant and helpful. He was able to give suggestions to save money on repairs and I felt like he had a lifetime of knowledge to do things the right way the first time. I look forward to starting on my list.
Their work was great, and they put top of the line seamless gutters and leaf gaurd on our home for one of the best prices. They also suggested a few better ideas than what we originally wanted for no upcharge. Top notch, would recommend them again.
Brian Skelly came by and gave us the initial estimate. He was very courteous and professional. We liked him immediately. He returned a second time with shingle samples but there was no pressure to choose a higher quality shingle (even though I did since the price difference was minimal). We signed the agreement and awaited the workers. They arrived on time and did a great job. My small (very small) complaint is that I found over a hundred roofing nails in my grass and along the driveway. The ones in the grass weren't so bad but the ones in the driveway could have caused serious problems to our vehicles. Nonetheless, I would definitely use them again. It should be noted that price is often times the highest consideration examined. I am very pleased to say that their price beat several competitors by $400 or more and I received a quality product (30 year shingles) with quality workmanship during the installation process.
They did a great job. The person I dealt with was right on top of things when it came to giving me an estimate. They came out and did the work. The price was exactly what they said it would be. They also did a few extra things for me as well that they did not charge me for. They are very professional.
It was good and they did a great job. They showed up when then said they were going to be there. They did the job on time and they cleaned up themselves. They finished the job well and they followed up after finishing their work. This was the second time they have worked for me. He did a wall siding twelve years ago.
Excellent experience. Honest folks who stand by their work. Brian Skelly (sales manager) showed up on time, listened to my needs, made suggestions (not to sell me more, but of things I didn't need - such as gutters in certain areas!), and gave me an estimate based on drawings he made and measurements. I knew they had a good reputation so agreed then and there. We set a date, the crew showed up on time, were courteous, did excellent work, and left everything spotless when they left. Dana (hope I spelled it correctly) and his sons should be commended for the excellent craftsmanship with siding and gutter work! I am overall very pleased. It is possible that I could have found a cheaper company, but I have been that route before and I believe you get what you pay for! I hope to use them in the future for other projects.
This was a wonderful experience overall. They were very prompt and polite. We were contacted soon after the services were performed to confirm our satisfaction, and we were so pleased with this company. I would recommend them to anyone at any time.
The work went fine. They were dependable. I was pleased with them. They did some work originally in the house, so they have good knowledge about the house, and it is fairly a new house. The price was very competitive.
We had a dormer with siding that had rotted out that we had tried for years to get replaced (too small a job for many contractors). We also had damaged wood around numerous windows, garage, and front door, apparently from not being properly sealed to the stucco when the house was built. The porch leaked because the drainage system off the roof was improperly built. The Improvement Company gave us a quick estimate, breaking down the cost of the various repairs. They answered our questions. Everything went smoothly except that the damage to the front door was more extensive than they had thought, so repair there involved removing the door entirely and drove cost somewhat over the estimate. All work was painted, and they even painted windows on the front of the house that they hadn't repaired so that everything would look similar. They were courteous and helpful throughout the process. We are very pleased with the repairs and would use the company again.
OUTSTANDING customer service. Dan ensured I was completely satisfied before paying. Excellent work. Fair with cost. Very professional and kind. I HIGHLY recommend this company.
Nothing but good things to say. The expierience was good from the initial estimate through completion. Work was performed professionally and the professionals took pride in their work.
They did an excellent job. The man came with two estimates and two samples of the gutters. We decided to go with the more expensive one because they seemed better. He explained everything to us. They weren't that terribly much more but they were worth it. Whenever we told them to come to the house, they were there on time and this time it was a different crew. I guess they have an estimator and then they have a crew that comes out to do the job. They were just as polite as they could be and did the work in one day. They just did a wonderful job. They cleaned up after themselves. We've couldn't have asked for anybody better. It's all working well. The man who came to give us the estimate was just nice as he could be. I surely would call them if I needed anything done on our house. I've always had good luck on Angie's list.
Brian Skelly came out and gave me a quote. Before this I called two other top companies from Angieslist, but Brian gave me a quote for the roof that was $2900 cheaper than the other ones. I called 4 of the top roofing companies on Angieslist. He took a little longer than the other guys, but that's because he broke the quote down, so I could choose different options. With 30 Year Architectural shingles, I got a quote for 5015 bucks. I was shocked and asked him why it was so cheap. He explained it doesn't really cost that much to make a roof and they already earn a good amount from $5015. As a business salesperson myself, I could tell he was genuine and really wanted to help, so I was sold. I then asked him for a quote for gutters. He looked at my house and because it's on a hill, he said I really needed gutters on the back, but gutters on the front weren't urgent. Talk about honesty. He quoted me $465 for gutters in the back plus $200 optional screens. Rotted wood: Brian said if they found rotted wood, they wouldn't charge me unless it was a massive amount, it would come out to be $1.75 per linear foot. They found a good amount, but did not charge me. Wow! I told him I urgently needed them to come out because my home insurance required me to change the roof in 30 days. He told me that he would get their roofers out, the following Monday 7:30-8:00. And might I add, he's the only company that said they wouldn't require me to pay until they finished the job and I was happy? Monday came: They came at 8:15, but I didn't really care. They quickly got started. I stayed at the house because I had an electrician there the same day inside the house, so I could tell what was going on the house outside. The guys were courteous. The next day, they came out for a partial half day because it was fore casted to rain. That same day a carpenter came out to repair a siding that was rotting. I even talked to Chris, the boss of the roofing crew and he was always telling me anything they found. The roof was finished in about 2 days as promised, but a delay due to an unforeseen rain; which was out of their hands anyways. The gutter guys came and did the gutter; wonderful job! I still want to get gutters on the front of my house, after seeing their work. So I will definitely call them again. The fact that they came out, gave me an honest quote, answered all my questions, were patient, were not prideful or arrogant, did the job as promised, I will use them again. I am really thankful I found the Improvement Co thru angielist. A recommendation is to always get as many quotes as you can. If I had not called these guys, I would've paid $2900-3000 more.
From the initial meeting to get estimate to the date of final completion of work, we were impressed with the professionalism of all we worked with and the quality of work. The ensured we were 100% satisfied before asking for payment. Very positive experience. We highly recommend The Improvement Co for roof replacement.
We do a lot of research before we choose someone to do work for us. They were excellent, and the company itself was very knowledgeable. They had plenty of workers and they worked fast. They did a good job - we would recommend them to others. I would rate them highly and would use them again.
Job went very well. They worked overtime and finished the job in two days. They came out the third day to make sure all debris was picked up. The workers were courteous and seemed sensitive to the fact that we had bad experiences in the past with roofers. They checked back in a couple of days to make sure we were happy with they job. They recommended we get our chimney cap replaced and we get covers for our gutters to keep the leaves out.
The experience was excellent. They came in a little under their quote for the roof. They showed my husband the wood damage under some of the shingles. They left the shingle selection at our house for us to look at over the weekend prior to doing the job and answered are ask questions about the different shingle types. I received two quotes from the top two companies on Angie's List. The other company was much higher by $3,000. My husband would definitely recommend them to family and friends.
Received several bids on the roof, Brian's was by far the best price. Service was excellent, Crew was professional, courteous, called me to inform me of hidden rot they had found and had me inspect it before they continued the work. Brian gave me a very good quote on a replacement skylight and explained why it was better to go with glass than keep the acrylic skylight (which would have needed replacing in the near future). i was given many color choices for the shingles, and received all the information I needed to claim the skylight for the energy tax credit. Excellent service, roof looks great. Excellent clean up job after the roofers left.
Brian was very professional and gave me a quote on price quickly. The guys were there when they said they would be and did a great job. They cleaned up when they were done and walked around after they cleaned up looking for anything they might have missed. The carpenter showed up a few days later and told me what he was going to do and came back with materials when he said he would and replaced all the bad siding, facia boards, and soffit areas. They took the time to do the job right and pointed out any problems they encountered while doing the job. This company is going to be on the top of my list for future jobs!
Called and scheduled estimate. They arrived exactly when they said they would. Estimate was very competitive to others I had received. I didn't have a big budget for this project and they came in way under my budget. Gutters look great--the quality was above what I was expecting and they were able to match the gutter color to the trim color exactly. All downspouts were included, as well as louvered covers. Attitude of the installers was awesome, especially considering one was attacked by hornets. Also, the day they were scheduled to come and start the job was rained out; it also rained for two days after. I was scheduled to go out of town for the next week, so they made a special trip on Saturday so I wouldn't have to wait any longer for the installation. They were in and out within a few hours and left no mess. One issue that arose was that the covers weren't available at the time of installation; but since I wanted the gutters installed fast, they went ahead and installed them. They came back a week later with the covers and offered to clean out any debris that might have collected.
Lance came to my home to see exactly what I needed to have done before he gave me a quote. He itemized each item and listed any additional materials required and the cost. When he came out today he installed two bathroom faucets that I had already purchased and leveled and re-installed my dishwasher that was not installed properly by an appliance company. Both jobs required him to repair or replace improper connections, and he added sub-flooring under the dishwasher where the original contractor had taken a short cut. He also cut down a 6' tall trunk of a holly tree at ground level and put it on the curb for me, cut into short lengths for pick up. I had already cut off the branches. Lance worked for about 4 hours, including the short time he spent getting the connector that he needed. (He came prepared with the materials he needed except for what he discovered when he pulled the dishwater out from under the counter.) Lance takes pride in his work and doesn't leave until the job is done right. This is the third time that I have called on him for similar work, including some carpentry. If you need someone who will do a good job and is honest and fair, call Lance at The Improvement Company.
